Reformation Principles

As church we hold to and subscribe to the five great fundamental rallying cries of the Protestant Reformers.

Reformation Principles

The five great rally cries of the Protestant Reformation, commonly called “the solas”, are:

  1. “Sola Scriptura” (Scripture Alone): The Bible alone is our highest authority
    2 Timothy 3:16-17; Jude 1-3; Acts 17:11; Hebrews 4:12
  2. “Sola Gracia” (Grace Alone): The granting of salvation is a free gift of God
    Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 6:23; 1 Peter 2:9; Acts 16:31
  3. “Sola Fide” (Faith Alone): We are saved through faith alone in the perfect work of Jesus Christ
    Romans 10:17; Romans 5:1-2; Romans 3:28; Galatians 2:16
  4. “Solas Christus” (Christ Alone): Jesus Christ has accomplished everything needed for the salvation of sinners
    John 14:6; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Acts 4:12
  5. “Sola Deo Gloria” (To God be Alone Glory): We live for the glory of God alone
    Romans 11:36; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:9-11
